Edutainment
Edutainment is one type of educational software. This is the merger of computer games and educational software into one product. It is primarily about entertainment but also educates. This type of software normally do not involve educational advisors and is not structured towards school curricula. It is very useful for children. It's purpose is to make learning fun for children since children enjoy playing and having fun. Making learning fun would also motivate children to want to learn, therefore, making their academic performance higher. It is important for teachers to recognise the various learning styles of individuals and use different strategies so each child can benefit. Edutainment is only one of the many softwares that help meet the different learning sytles of children or more so individuals
Example: Computer programs such as Nintendo can be used to educate children. Nintendo games can be created to teach children how to add, spell or other areas that will be helpful in increasing their academic performance. This will capture children's interest because most children love playing computer games. Hence, making it fun and also educating them.
